Lovingly nicknamed “the velvet hammer” by her students, and recognized as one of Chicago’s most influential teachers; Ashley's magnetic personality draws you in. Her passion, love and positivity are contagious, and her desire to create an impactful experience each time you meet can be felt.
Ashley began practicing yoga in 2003 and immediately fell in love with the grace, beauty and challenge of the practice. Looking for a distraction from her philosophical studies while attending Dominican University, Ashley began making it to her mat multiple times a week and sometimes multiple times a day. During her time in university, Ashley found yoga and major in philosophy to be beautifully intertwined and knew that one day she would teach herself.
In 2013, Ashley completed her first yoga teacher training certification in Power Vinyasa Yoga. Shortly after completing her first certification, Ashley suffered a trauma which left her wheelchair bound. Over the duration of her nearly 2 year recovery, she rehabilitated herself solely through yoga. Once able to walk, Ashley yearned for more depth in her personal practice and set her sights on a 500HR advanced yoga certification.
In November 2015, Ashley traveled to Bali, Indonesia, to complete a six week intensive 500HR advanced yoga teacher training. Her extensive training includes various certifications in Vinyasa Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Nidra Meditation. Additionally, Ashley holds a fitness certification and is a Certified International Health Coach.
Ashley is an experienced registered teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT).
